Holy Fire will be the name of the new Foals album, due in February.

The 3rd album from this British 5-piece,

“Inhaler” is the preview single.

Richard Hawley

Once a member of Pulp and the Longpigs, Brit guitarist/singer/songwriter Richard Hawley has 7 solo albums under his belt.

His latest, Standing at the Sky’s Edge, (a Mercury Prize nominee) is stellar.

Listen here to “Down in the Woods”.

Toy is an exciting new band from London.

A bit reminiscent of the psychedelic rock of the 60’s, this quintet’s debut is eponymously titled,

and “Motoring” is one of Toy’s singles.

Diamond Rings

Shades of New Wave. Mix electronica alternative dance with David Bowie and we have Diamond Rings.

Canadian John O’Regan is Diamond Rings; Free Dimensional his newly released 2nd album.

“’I’m Just Me” the single.

Mission of Burma

Mission of Burma is one of the most influential bands to ever come out of Boston. Post-punk, vitally intense, uncannily discordant and blazingly modern the band turned rock over in 1979 and exposed its dark underbelly.

Mission of Burma disbanded in 1983 due to guitarist Roger Miller’s tinnitus, but in 2002 famously reunited and have since recorded 4 albums, the most recent Unsound released this past summer.

Learn How: The Essential Mission of Burma is a greatest hits compilation scheduled for December.

“Second Television” from Unsound will be included.

Titus Andronicus

Punk rock provocateurs Titus Andronicus have launched their 3rd album Local Business.

New Jersey born and bred, their birthplace permeates their music as we heard previously in The Monitor and now in their latest “In a Big City”.

Cajsa Siik

Cajsa Siik’s first song debuted in Stockholm in August.

Expect the album Plastic House in December.

Singer, songwriter, cellist, “Was I Supposed to?” is delicious infectious pure pop.

Wild Nothing

We featured the song “Paradise” by Wild Nothing back in September.

It’s one of my favorite songs of the year and the video has just been released starring the actress Michelle Williams.

As an added bonus she reads from The Word Child by the great novelist Iris Murdoch, a beautiful enhancement to the song.

Tamaryn is a New Zealand born vocalist now residing in San Francisco. Rex John Silverman joins her as guitarist, producer and collaborator.

Tender New Signs is their 2nd album. Layers of sound and haunting vocals give them a shoegaze connotation.

“Heavenly Bodies” and “The Garden” are two featured tracks.

“Heavenly Bodies”

“The Garden”

∆, Alt-J

, pronounced in this case Alt-J, just won the Mercury Music Prize.

The award is given annually to the best album from the UK and Ireland.

(The band’s name derives from pressing Alt-J on a Mac keyboard to achieve the Delta symbol. Delta is used to denote “change” in mathematical equations. )

“Fitzpleasure” is from An Awesome Wave, Alt-J’s winning debut.
