Natalie Merchant (former 10,000 Maniacs lead singer) has released her first solo album in almost seven years. Developing the theme of the relationship of mother to daughter, Natalie set 26 poems to music. Featuring primarily 19th and 20th century poets, the music ranges from Cajun to chamber, Chinese folk to jazz, bluegrass to R & B and includes over 130 musicians.
